Preventative Maintenance of INCA Energy 350 X-Ray Spectrometer

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Oxford Instruments America, Inc., 300 Baker Ave, Ste 150, Concord, MA 01742, (Cage Code: 1EPT2) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement for Preventative Maintenance and Emergency Visits/Parts for Two INCA Energy 350 X-Ray Spectrometers. Market research has determined that Oxford Instruments is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and, therefore, maintains all data rights to their equipment. Therefore, the government intends to procure this maintenance and support on a sole source basis from Oxford Instruments. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
