Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) Automated Form F (AFF) for the A-10

The purpose of this synopsis is to provide information that the government is contemplating a contract for the Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) Automated Form F (AFF) for the A-10 System Program Office (SPO). This data is developed and owned by Lockheed Aero. A sole source contract for this effort is contemplated to Lockheed Aero. The AWBS is a window-based software tool to automate weight and balance calculations for the A-10 Aircraft. The Air Force AFF uses aircraft affectivity data to determine the aircraft Mission Design Series (MDS) type to calculate the forward and aft limits and determine fuel tank capacities. It calculates all Center of Gravity (CG) limits, in-flight limits, and fuel weights and movements. The AFF also calculates most forward and most aft conditions. The Contractor may be required to travel in support of the objectives. Sole source contract contemplated to Lokheed Martin Aeronautics.
