Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Blanket Purchase Agreement September 4, 2012 Promega Products The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Acquisition Management in Washington, D.C. intends to establish a sole source Blanket Purchase Agreement under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, Other Than Full and Open Competition procedures and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, for the acquisition of Promega Research Products. The Office of Research and Development (ORD), National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL) located in Cincinnati, OH has ongoing research that requires the list of products below. Agency scientists have designed numerous techniques and methods using this vendor?s products. The use of kits and reagents from other vendors will produce results that cannot be directly compared to previous data. Using the products below will provide consistency, thus maintaining the integrity and validity of the scientific methods. If other vendor?s products were used, they would have to evaluate and re-optimize Agency techniques which would result in a waste of significant resources, both funding and time.
