The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity proposes to award to Simplex Grinnell, 9585 Snowden River Parkway, Columbia, MD, on a sole source basis the purchase of flat screen monitors and an OPIM computer. This equipment is needed at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology for the building's CCURE access system, monitoring system, and control station as a vital part of the Biosurety Program. The access system installed by Simplex Grinnell is a proprietary system and Simplex Grinnell is the onl y entity or organization currently licensed to perform service, maintenance, repair, replacement of system components, and/or software modifications. This not a formal solicitation. This synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition w ould be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the purchase will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract price based on this notice is solely with in the discretion of the Government.
