16--Integrated Maintenance Diagnostics/Health and Usage Monitoring System Spare and Repair Parts

This is a notice of intent to negotiate with Goodrich Fuel & Utility Systems on an other than full and open competitive basis for the acquisition of spare and repair parts for the Integrated Maintenance Diagnostics/Health and Usage Monitoring System (IMD HUMS) for the AH-1Z and UH-1Y aircraft. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) plans to issue a modification to Contract N00019-01-C-0078 for these parts. This requirement will be procured in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency’s requirements. As the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the IMD HUMS and related equipment, Goodrich is the only known firm that can produce the spare and repair parts required for maintenance and upkeep of the IMD HUMS equipment so that it performs its intended function in the fleet environment and is production representative and compatible with currently approved logistics support analyses, maintenance plans and hardware configurations.
