84 -- Notification of the use of a textile DNAD

In accordance with 10 USC 2533a (k): Notification of the use of a textile DNAD in FebBizOpps within 7 days of award, the following information is provided. On April 17, 2006, the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics) signed a Domestic Non-Availability Determination (DNAD) of Steel Toe Caps. The exception at DFARS 225.7002-2(b) applies to the acquisition of steel toe caps because the Secretary concerned determined that items grown, reprocessed, reused, or produced in the United States cannot be acquired as and when needed in satisfactory quality and sufficient quantity at U.S. market prices. DSCP has one current contract for the Navy Safety Boot, SP0100-00-D-0328, which utilizes steel toe caps. During the three months remaining in the current ordering term, DSCP expects to order 46,768 pr or $2,782,913.00 against this contract using the authority of the DNAD for steel toe caps. This quantity will be ordered via delivery orders against SP0100-00-D-0328.
