J--Production Incorporation of ECP MDA-T45TS-00214 Fuel Boost Pump Static Inverter

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a sole source delivery order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-02-G-3041 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, St. Louis, MO for the product improvement of the Fuel Boost Static Inverter for the T45 TS aircraft. McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the sole developer and manufacturer of the T45 TS aircraft. The redesigned fuel boost pump static inverter eliminates the growing risk of parts obsolescence, improves reliability and electromagnetic compatibility, and is interchangeable with the current inverter. In addition, a RFI suppressor has been integrated into the new invertor. The baseline production configuration will replace the current invertor (vpn 509-1-02902-00) with the new invertor (vpn 509-1-02950-020). In support of maintaining interchangeability, the new invertor has been designed to operate in conjunction with the existing external RFI suppressor. This eliminates the need to remove suppressors in the fleet prior to installation of the new invertor as a spared item. The new boost pump static invertor will be coded as two-way interchangeable and made the preferred spare. This will allow for the old and new invertors to be installed together or separately.
