67 -- Infitec Stereoscopic

The Uniformed Services University of the Health and Sciences (USUHS), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-4(b)(1), with Infitec GmbH for the purchase of 8 Infitec 3D stereoscopic projection systems. These units will allow the Simulation Center to conduct training in realistic field-like conditions indoors. The stereoscopic projectors allow stereoscopic images to be passively generated without the use of infra-red emitters for synchronization, and is view-and orientation-independent. This item is being procured as a commercial item in accordance with the procedures in FAR 12 – Acquisition of Commercial Items and Far 13 – Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Sole Source determination is based on Infitec GmbH being the only manufacture and distributor of this product. This is not a request for quote. However, all interested parties may contact the Contract Specialist. Responses must be in writing and must be received in the office by 04 August 2006.
