NASA/MSFC has a requirement for: Line Item 1 Tellurium, high purity 7N 99.99999% Details: Tellurium (Te); size: approximately 1 – 1.5kg ingots Quantity: 17.000 KG Line Item 2 Cadmium, high purity 7N 99.99999% Details: Cadmium (Cd); size: sliced ingot into size less than 8mm in every dimension (not less than 5mm) Quantity: 8.000 KG Line Item 3 Zinc, high purity 7N 99.99999% Details: Zinc (Zn); size: approximately 100gr ingots pieces Quantity: 2.000KG NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from 5N Plus, Inc. 5N Plus, Inc., is the only known source that provides 7-nines (99.99999%) tellurium material as required by the Government. Using high purity materials from 5N Plus Inc. will provide traceability of contamination that would not exist if obtained from any other source. High purity materials and traceability of contamination are requirements that are important to the Government. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on March 30, 2006. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
