[email protected]. Sprint Communications Company, LP is currently providing wireless telecommunication services for the Veteran Administration Medical Center, Louisville, Kentucky. The telecommunication services provided by Sprint Communications are existing services for this location, and they are used to support wireless devices (blackberries, mobile hotspot, broadband cards) used for phone, data and Direct Connect services. Coverage provided for these devices shall cover the Louisville VAMC as well as the entire continental United States. Substantial duplication of cost to the Government is not expected to be recovered through competition and Unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements would occur. Under the authority FAR Part 8.405-6 (B) (2) allows for the procurement of items through other than full and open competition; applicable when the agency's minimum needs may only be satisfied by a service that is unique and available from only one responsible source. Sprint Communications Company, LP is the only known local source available to satisfy this current need.
