59--700 SERIES THERMAL SWITCH

NASA/GSFC has a requirement for Thermal Switches (thermostats) NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Honeywell International Inc, pursuant to FAR 13.106 for the acquisition of supplies or services determine to be reasonably available from one source. Thermostats are required for use in the Cloud-Aerosol Transport System (CATS) instrument. The thermostats must be capable of extended operation at nominally 1 Ampere current at 120 VDC. The thermostats must be hermetically sealed and capable of operation in vacuum. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities statement to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:30 p.m. local time on June 28, 2012. Such statements will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit a statement which shall be considered by the agency.
