J--Regional Laboratory Testing for Nebraska Western - Iowa HCS Omaha VA Medical Center located in Omaha, NE

DESCRIPTION: The VA Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Laboratory Services, P.O. Box 30011, Omaha NE 68103-1111, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible testing laboratory is known for this procurement in the vicinity of Omaha, Nebraska. This is notice of intent to award sole source under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Note - No award will be issued from responses to this notice. Response to this notice does not legally bind the government in any manner. Your concerns will be considered if you respond to this posting with a similar product/service. The justification for this sole source request is based on technical requirements that can only be provided by the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). They are the only laboratory that can perform the specialized testing needs as required by the Nebraska Western Iowa HCS Medical Center and provide the turnaround times mandated for continuity of care of the veteran patient. All quotes received by 2:00 P.M. Central Time, March 5, 2012, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
